What is a Captain? It is the commanding officer who takes full responsibility not unlike a Director or Producer.
Why Captain Sailor? It is a little whimsical and invokes the sailor who navigates his own course. We are starting an adventure on uncharted waters... for us. We are finding success by aligning ourselves with those who love the adventure and want to share in the excitement of the journey.
Captain Sailor Productions team is Screenwriter/Director, Joshua Leif Blodget and Producer, Tanya Blodget.
Josh is an enterprising new film maker who prides himself on using practical effects such as using elite stuntmen, restoring and painting a 1955 Willys CJ5, making UFOs out of satellite dishes and creating his own sound design. Josh is taking on the real world in a time of CGI and AI. Josh has a unique way of seeing the world, he has an eye and ear for detail that is overlooked by many. When Josh shares his view, new worlds open up.
Josh was disillusioned with the direction that the film industry was headed in while he was a high school student. Most movies were and still are remakes or sequels. Josh wanted to make a film that was different from what was available. He wrote a screenplay while still in High School.
Josh pivoted from film school to attend stunt schools. He attended the International Stunt School in Seattle, Washington. There, he met many fantastic mentors, one was Chuck Johnson of Quiet Flame Productions. Chuck invited Josh to move to Japan to learn about performing stunts, martial arts and work on a movie with him. Josh moved to Japan to further his practical education. When he returned to the United States, Josh attended Stunt Performers Academy in Los Angeles. As an extension of SPA Josh met some fantastic stunt performers, stunt coordinators and cinematographers.
Tanya Blodget has been CEO of Palo Alto Perfusion since 2012. When her son, Josh decided to leave film school and make a movie, Tanya and her husband, Brandon agreed to use the funds put aside for college to make the beginning of Josh's movie. Tanya's skills as mom, coach and CEO translated into being Producer of Rodney Rideout. Captain Sailor Productions LLC was formed in December of 2025.
Josh teamed up with an elite cast and crew to make the short film Rodney Rideout using practical effects. His dream is to have the short film be one of the opening scenes to his full-length movie.
The short action-adventure film Rodney Rideout is 15 minutes and 23 seconds long and is screening at The Austin Action Fest, August 14–16, 2026. The screenplay for the feature-length movie Rodney Rideout is available.

Tanya Blodget has written the screenplay Shattered, a full-length 3D animation registered with the WGA.
“Think Harry Potter meets Finding Nemo for the digital age. It’s about a lonely teenager who is rejected by his screen-addicted world because he prefers nature and living in the real world, only to discover his late father was a legendary wizard from a hidden magical realm. He learns his mother accidentally contributed to our superficial, social-media-obsessed society just to keep humans distracted from finding the magical border. Now, to save both sides from a looming war, he must use a musical puzzle cube left behind by his father to shatter the digital noise and replace the wall between worlds with a permanent bridge of human connection.”

Tanya Blodget is also writing an episodic television series based on the Blodget family history, starting with a family ancestor, Stephen Hopkins, in The Tempest Within — a prestige limited series in eight episodes.
“Every civilization has a genesis, but America was born out of an act of pure, unyielding defiance. The Tempest Within is the untold, explosive true story of Stephen Hopkins—my husband and sons’ direct ancestor—and the only man aboard the Mayflower who had already survived the lawless, bloody frontier of the New World.”
“Stephen Hopkins is the definitive American OG. He didn’t cross the Atlantic for a king’s crown or a merchant’s ledger; he crossed it to build an empire with his own muscle and brains. He is the quiet, charismatic rebel with an ironic smirk whose real-world island mutiny inspired William Shakespeare’s final masterpiece, The Tempest. He is the pragmatic survivor who negotiated the peace at Pocahontas’s wedding, authored the revolutionary legal framework of the Mayflower Compact, and orchestrated the first Thanksgiving. He encapsulates the raw, unbridled promise of the American dream: that a man’s destiny belongs entirely to him.”
